HOW TO SAMPLE / Micro-tools
Learn the best ways to use our micro-tools for sampling during microscopic work with the hope that it enhances your operations and interest in our tools.
Case.1) Micro substances on the surface
< Sampling method >
To collect falling micro substances, use the sharp Tungsten Probe tip to touch and pick up the sample. A micromanipulator may be required based on the substance’s size and condition.

The sampling is possible due to the intermolecular (e.g. electrostatic forces) between the probe tip and the target substance.

Please select smaller or half size tips than the target substance.

Case.2) Partially embedded substances
< Sampling method >
Use the flat edge screwdriver-shaped tool’s tip to contact and excavate the target substance for sampling. A micromanipulator may be required based on the substance’s size and condition.

Use the tungsten carbide needle-shaped tool by pressing its tip directly onto the substance to extract buried or adhered samples.

Choose the appropriate tool shape for your target substance: flat edge screwdriver, knife-edge, probe, or fork.
